The Education in Hunt Historical Marker commemorates the history of the Hunt School, established around 1915 to serve the children of early settlers in Kerr County.
Established around 1915, the Hunt School combined earlier rural schools on the north and south forks of the Guadalupe River. It served the children of early settlers in Kerr County. Due to increased enrollment and river floods, the community built a new school farther from the river in 1926. In 1934, citizens voted to incorporate the Hunt Independent School District.
The marker is located near the entrance of the Hunt School, on the west side of School Road opposite Dutch Lane in Hunt, Texas.
